For almost a year, I’ve been using a clipless curling iron. A what?!!?! Well lets back up..I know you’ve read lots of women’s mags or beauty blogs that have recommended wrapping your hair around the curling iron. Well someone finally came up with the idea of removing the clip. And I saved my $$ and got a clipless curling iron last july!
You can get them in various sizes from a simple rod or a cone shape one. (they also come in reverse cone shape..this is the one I have)
Enzo Milano Reverse Conico Curling Iron
The manufactures website says the features are:
Features
- Heats up to 160 C / 320 F
- Ceramic Heating
- Ergonomic Design
- Coated Aluminum Teflon Barrel
And I’ll admit, it is a great curling iron. I’m converted! Its hard to use a regular curling iron now! The width of the barrel allows for soft curls or tight ringlets depending on how tight I roll it or how long I hold it on. And for me the best feature, it takes me about 15 min to curl my whole head in pretty waves that last all day! It sounds stupid but I feel like the curls that come off this iron hold longer than from my other irons.
The problem with this iron is it is HOT! It came with a “heat resistant glove” which was not. It was one cheap knit glove that offered no protection. It took me quite a while to get the hang of the iron without touching it. I never got any real burns but there have been a couple close calls. **If I drop my curling iron (any one) or straightener, I let it fall and jump away. I feel like this avoids hand/foot/leg burns. Though where I do my hair is carpeted, so this might not work for you**
My iron had allowed styles like these:
See how diverse?! Ulta has lots of options for clipless irons at all price ranges!
What kind of curling iron do you use?

If I’m in a rush, I’ll usually stop here but if not, I can take a little more time and make softer waves with a curling iron or a wave iron. This makes a dressy ’do a lot easier. (Like Kate Hudson and Jessica Beil!) It’s such a beautiful style that looks completely effortless and almost is!
