New York Fashion Week..Spring 2012 Shows

Guess what time it is?  It is time for New York Fashion Week!  This time around it is Spring 2012 Ready to Wear.  I’ve decided to cover it a little differently this time around. I know that when I post the days shows it clogs up blog feeds, but I refuse to shop covering it…for one thing I have too much fun going through the pictures so….

…see the nice little button

NYFW Spring 2012 Shows

in the menu bar above?

It’ll take you to my favorite looks from every show!  I’ll be adding them from every show I can find!  My photos are from a mixture of WWD, Style, and New York Mag. The most recent will be at the top.  You can also find an album of all the looks on my facebook page, here! Hope you enjoy the coverage as much as I have in finding it for you!

Fashion Week is here!

Fashion week is here loves!  Its finally time! I’m beyond excitement at this point.  I’m totally bummed I can’t attend the Independent Fashion Bloggers conference, which is taking place as we speak, but I’m staying updated through Grit&Glamour’s updates

I’m especially ready for the shows! I’m scrambling through WWD and The Cut for any pictures of the first few shows. None yet! Booh!  But The Cut has a great list of the show that are broadcasting live on the web!  What–easy access to watch every trendy detail?! Yes, Please!  So here’s what they got:

So you don’t have a ticket, or a perk-y job, or a socialite connection. No matter — you can still watch the Fashion Week shows live. Only instead of sitting on a hard plastic folding chair craning to see over Pat Field’s hat or Tavi’s hair bow, you can do so on your computer in the comfort of your apartment or office. We’ve compiled details on which labels will be live-streaming from the runway throughout Fashion Week, so all you have to do is click down the list. Rev up your laptop and settle in — stilettos optional.

So long Bryant Park, Hello Lincoln Center! Last day of RTW Fall 2010

Last week marked the end of an era.  The tents that so epitomized New York Fashion Week hosted their last shows in Bryant Park after 17 years.  “The semiannual event moves from the park near Times Square to a plaza within Lincoln Center in September.” [Yahoo! Finance]

Close enough in distance, designers could be seen wheeling racks of clothes from the garment district to the Bryant Park tents. “Fashion Week had outgrown the tents,” Mayor Michael Bloomberg maintained, “the garment district also changed from its manufacturing heyday, with banks, fast-food restaurants and chain retailers moving in as factories moved out, primarily to Asia.”

AP Press reports:

It takes some three weeks to set up, stage and clean up after the star-studded invitation-only shows. More than 100,000 people have come through the tents this week for eight days of previews; events the city estimates generate $466 million in visitor spending a year.

Tommy Hilfiger was the last show to take place in the tents. “It’s the end of an era. The tents have been a great experience,” Hilfiger said in an interview Wednesday. “It’s an honor to close fashion week, but it’s bittersweet.”
