Time for Friend Friday! YAY! This one took a while to write, took a lot of thought. Here we go:
1. Most readers and fellow fashion bloggers value authenticity in the
blogs they read. How would you describe blog/blogger authenticity?
Authenticity, to me, is realness. If I feel like another blogger is just repeating others ideas, commentary, etc..that is not real. Writing feels real when you can relate to someone’s situations, feelings, and more.
2. When it comes to your blog how to you infuse it with that true/
authentic feeling?
I do me. Do you do you? *Jersey Accent* Its the truth though. I just write like a speak. People listen when I talk and know its not fake..it is the same when I write. It took a while to figure out and not be shy. But now I’m comfortable. Here I am, typos, beauty marks, warts, and all!
3. Have you stopped following a blog in the last three months? What
made you lose interest?
Does not apply. This hasnt happened to me. Though sometimes I’ll find a new blog, read maybe the first page of posts, get so disgusted with the fakeness and never click again.
4. We can’t communicate effectively on our blogs, something we don’t
live in real life… what are some ways you try to live an authentic
life?
I had to read and think about this question about 5 times to understand. Then I asked hubs what he thought….he then tried relating it to sports, and I checked out. Here’s how I can explain it. Have you seen the preview for the movie “The Roommate” with Leighton Meester where she pretty much takes over her roomies life? This is the exact opposite of me. I don’t follow others or let them influence me. I do my own interpretation of everything. That’s authentic.
5. Give a shout-out… Which bloggers do you think are truly genuine
and why?
Maegan from www.lovemaegan.com She’s really the only blogger I make an effort to check everyday. One of my most favorite most real posts about life was about her and her husband. It couldn’t have been more honest, funny, and open! Still looking for the actual post…..
