3 Thankful Things

Happy Thanksgiving, loves! Time to name things we are thankful for.  Last year, It was about body image.  This year its not gonna be so deep.  Here are 3 things I’m thankful for about fashion/style/my closet.  Lame, but I’ve been obsessing for 3 days over what I’m wearing on turkey day.

1.  I’m thankful comfy is cute.  I heart leggings and oversize tops.   This equals the perfect fall/winter ensemble.  At my work, girls come in all the time wearing this and look adorable.  While it depends on the width of the top, it might not look good on my shape but overall its a pretty flattering look on everyone.

2.  I’m thankful for other fashion blogs, especially Outfit of the Day bloggers!   Miss Vinyl Ahoy, Kendi Everyday, and my all time/check everyday Love Maegan give me tons of inspiration.

3.  I’m thankful for my collecton of shoes.  I <3 every single pair I have!  I have a lot of heels that I wish I could wear on more occasions but I LOVE them. I can’t wait to wear them all with tights when it gets colder here!  Curse you 80 degree weather on NOVEMBER 24th.   Not a happy camper today.  Anyway, I hope to add a few more boots this Xmas.

What are you thankful for this year?

Fall trends I’m dying to try

Magazines and runways are filled with trends I’m dying to try, but wonder if it will really come out looking a chic as it does in the magazines.  These are the trends I’m most obsessed with at the moment:

Sweatpants:

This page in Instyle’s September 2010 issue has me dying to try sweatpants with heels, shine, and belts.  I scoured their website to find a better picture/article but I had to settle with a picture of the page. (274 to be exact)  I just don’t know if they’ll looks stupid.  I mean they don’t here but the pages of a magazine vs. real life are quite different.

Here are some options I’m digging:

My favorite is the pair from Charlotte Russe, especially with the current sale price of $11.99!!

Socks and Heels:

How many times have you made fun of someone wearing socks with sandals? Its one of my pet peeves. But since socks with sandal heels started showing up on the runway its grown on me and now I’m dying to try! I have no clue why!? I’m pretty sure someone will make fun of me, but don’t care at this point because this trend is so charming yet edgy! Love Maegan is especially good at pulling this off!

I’m dying to put red socks with these Fioni Harlee shoes.  I’m thinking of going on a sock shopping spree…

If I get up enough nerve to wear either of these there will definetly be outfit posts.

So what trends are you currently obsessed with? Have you tried either of these?

Fashion Night Out, my way.

Last Friday was Fashion Night Out in New York.  So I celebrated/supported from far away. To dinner,  I wore my 2009 FNO shirt, jazzed up of course.  I decided to be brave and try another outfit post.  Hubs was nice enought to take a few pictures. I was awkward and stiff but tried to remember the great tips in Grit & Glamour’s article. Here’s what I ended up with:

My fno shirt was too big.  So I belted it with a black skinny belt and pulled it over to hang.  I pinned both sleeves, one under to become sleeveless, the other pinched together then tied with a black sheer ribbon.  (I accidentally left my cell phone in my pocket, whoops!)

I paired it with Bull Head skinny jeans and F21 mary jane heels.  The only  jewelry was turquoise flower earrings (F21). And I couldn’t resist red lips.

Need these ASAP!

We all want things, and we all need things.  This is a need! I’m absolutely head of heels (literally) in love with these shoes! And for only $30.00!! I think I can find that much somewhere!

Spring Fashion News, makes my feet flutter!

I can’t wait for spring, and I am dying for wedges! We know this, so when Style.com Tila March Suede Wedgereported on them, I just had to share:

the BRIGHT side

tila march’s colorful suede wedges

“One of the brightest trends we spotted at the recent pre-fall shows was blue suede shoes. And red suede shoes, and green suede…well, you get the picture. We thought we’d have to wait until summer to slip our feet into a pair, but leave it to French editor turned designer Tamara Taichman to be one step ahead. Come the warmer weather, her yellow cork-soled wedges will pair nicely with the vibrant color-blocked ensembles designers have been showing, but until then, they’ll look great with gray tights. Does this mean optimism is officially back in style?
